Ryan Ouye was born into the Service Rentals & Supplies, Inc. family. The business was started by his father Richard in 1973 when Ryan was only 7. He worked part-time during his high school years and during the summer months during his college years. He returned home to start working full time in 1990. Ryan helped to expand the company in 1992 when Service Rentals and Supplies, Inc. opened an office on the island of Kauai, right after hurricane Iniki. Service Rentals into one of the biggest rental companies in the State of Hawaii. Service Rentals has five locations; two on Maui (one in Kahului and one in Lahaina), one in Lihue, one in Kona and just recently one on Oahu. Ryan, currently, oversees all daily operations for all locations
Ryan currently serves the community as a: Board Member for the Maui Chamber of Commerce, The Boy Scouts of America – Maui County, The Family Business Center – Maui for the Schidler School of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Other recent service was as a Board Member for the Wailuku Hongwanji Preschool, past judge for the Boys and Girls club of Maui. Ryan is involved with other business groups such as the C12 business Leaders Christian group
Service Rentals and Supplies Inc. was awarded the 2008 Small Business Entrepreneurial Success Award for the County of Maui. And in 2009, Service Rentals and Supplies, Inc. was awarded the Outstanding Small Business for the National Philanthropy Association, through the Aloha Chapter. This award is given to those businesses who continually give back to their community.
Ryan still finds the time to get involved with his four children and is an active member of the Maui Country Club and the King Kamehameha golf club. He attends St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with his family.
